The Money making machine (Board Of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore) Hey you all out there do you know our board of intermediate and secondary education Lahore is progressing with leaps and bounds? As you all know that it is to supply good education to the students and to serve the humanity but I do not know why they are just making money on the name of this board. This article is to protest against those people who are trying to make money with it and running life of the students.
I will tell you how they are doing all this. First of all the books are being changed every year. That is why the books are not available to the students for a long time, even when the next session is started. Will any one ask the wonderful caretaker of the board that what is the purpose behind this? NO! I will tell you the reason. My Cousin from Sindh board studied from the book which was used by my elder cousin then her sister then again her brother then another cousin then he himself is studding with that book. In this way only one book can serve 4 or 5 people. But unfortunately our board is too much hungry for money that they are changing the syllabus every year so that every one has to buy a new books so that can get more then more money. But this technique is only applicable in Arts subjects (such as Urdu, English, Islamiat and Pak. Studies). To do this thing in science subjects they are doing another great thing. They are making so many mistakes in Text books of science subjects that one has to buy the new edition for it. I think only businessman are there in out board who are just willing to make money by any means.
Not only this but when they are changing the Syllabus of English they introduced American English. The spelling in that book are British and the grammar and Punctuations is American.
(UPDATE 12.09.06): This is not all....... the new eddition of the URDU bokk has written in it "TAJURBATI EDITION". Will any body ask the great fellow in board that what do that maen? Are the students of the board JUST TO FOR THE EXPERIMENTS OF BOARD? Before this the board was doing these thing these wonderfull experiments and hiding it. But no, not more they also have the right to do all this in front of every one! Is'nt that great, is'nt that wonderfull? WOW!
I will suggest a name for this board Business In Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore. It is not only the way they are making money but they are also doing something more terrible then that. They give good students negative marks in the paper by their own so that one will have to re check the paper and will also give an extra fee to the board for rechecking of the papers. A good example of it is the monitor of our class. His name is "Rana Farhan". He got above 80% in O-Levels and now he failed in Chemistry in first year of intermediate. Isn't that unbelievable, or is that possible? How could this be possible. Now he is bound to recheck the paper, and what else could he do!
(UPDATE 12.09.06):And the update is that he rechecked his paper and have got above 80 marks in chamistry.
Another thing I want to tell you is that the board which is supplying knowledge to others do not even know the difference between "excepted" and "expected". The given pictures shows the line captured from the site of Lahore board.
This is not all...! Our board has changed the pattern in the year 2003-2005 for the examination of 9th and 10th class. They have done a zero percent choice in those examinations and after the next year they changed this decision. Are the students only for the "experiment". They could have performed it in some schools which are made for research. Why are they running the life of the students. Why? Why? What was my mistake in it? Why was my Result was ruined due to that worst decision? Why?
For God's sake, for Heaven's sake please please have some dose of sense. I beg you people in the board who are responsible for it that please do not destroy the life of students they are the future of Pakistan!!!!!

As one passes one’s intermediate examinations, all the attention of the students goes to the admissions in universities. The young minds of the teenagers is just thinking to make money out of the courses offered in universities- but unfortunately not thinking that what would be the best course according to their taste. Now-a-days teenagers are just thinking education and degrees as money making machine. It do not matter for them that would that study suit them and their capability or not. What the benefit they will get out of the course they do. Whenever they listen to any new course, at the very instant they ask, “What is its SCOPE? Will it help me in making my future or not? How much would I be able to earn per month?” These are some frequently asked questions by the students.
Let us have an example, when a student that had his mind of BBA gets to know that he can be on the merit of engineering, due to the fact that engineering has a better SCOPE then that of BBA, he goes for it. However his mind is more understanding in BBA, as a result he ruins his carrier. After a period of long struggle he gets graduation degree, but as he gets some job he finds it too much difficult for him to do. He cries for his past to come again and he should then choose BBA.
Another big example in this regard is of CA in Pakistan. Most of the students who fails to get admission in medical college or in engineering university goes to the college of CA, guided by some uncle’s father, friend or someone or and guidance by some principal of any accounting university. As a matter of fact I have seen a case like this. It happened when I was attending my evening class. A man who was principle of CAA (Lahore) came in our classroom and started comparing other professions and CA. It is true that degree of CA makes too much money that one could handle, but at the same time we must see the other circumstances in it. It has a lot of hurdles in it (I am not discouraging any one for doing CA but the facts cannot be ignored). That man was encouraging (or you may say it pushing) students to gets admission in his college to do CA, just because it has a better SCOPE. The very simple thing is what he and every well educated person know that it is not just a difficult course but most of the student ruin their lives in doing CA. He was just making better strength of his college and nothing else. I had a discussion but he stopped me saying I will talk to you later. This is such a shameful act that you are ru8ining lives of student just for the betterment of you pocket. Another interesting thing is that he said that his young brother is doing software engineering from FAST. Simple is the thing that, if CA is so much valuable, hay he did not suggest his own brother to do CA and now he is on the streets, doing public welfare, going from institution to institution to tell people to do CA, just because “IT HAS A BETTER SCOPE” There must be some way to sort out cheap and selfish man like that. At the same time I also want to say that, not just CA but for any degree you chose you must be fully aware of it. What courses are studied there, how the job will be after you graduate and everything else about that degree. For that regard you can meet the students or one who are doing jobs after doing that course not considering only the SCOPE of that course. Then you may come to the final point of selecting your future carrier.
Man! Come on if you want to earn just money go invest some money in some business. Why do you waste tie and money in universities? Why? And if you do not have enough money to invest go out to some bank. They are ready to give you loads of loan. They are all waiting for you.
IF ONE BECOMES A PILOT JUST TO GO ROUND THE WORLD HE MAY NOT DO HIS JOB EFFICIENTLY, ON THE OTHER HAND IF ONE HAS AIM TO BE A PILOT HE WOULD DO BETTER THE FIRST ONE.
It is not said that there thing are prohibited. It is true that money is needed to do many things in life but FOR GOD’S SAKE! YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE ALL THAT MONEY IN YOUR GRAVES, or are you? If so then go it.
According to the current value of PKR, 10,000 to 20,000 rupees are enough for single to enjoy a moderate life. After some time when he gets promotion, he can also enjoy all other essentials of life. Then what is the meaning of 80,000 or one lack rupee per month?
The conclusion, in short, is just that a person should only select the subject to his extent of capability of mind, according to your taste, not just seeing the SCOPE. It must be considered but if there is only one or two courses that the student likes but it do not have a better SCOPE he must go for what he likes, leaving the rest on God Almighty. He is the only one to fulfill the needs of stomach. No education of any degree can help in case He is not willing. May God bless all teenagers with better thinking ability and may they be the cause of the elimination of the word SCOPE!
